 We all can find meaning and happiness within our limitations

My Philosophy

Everyone has a unique experience of life and my aim is to help people overcome emotional difficulties, to encourage them to see things from a new perspective and to become aware of the choices they have in order to lead a more fulfilling life.   I believe that:
  • we are shaped by our past and environment;
  • we have freedom of choice;
  • we are responsible for our own lives;
  • given the right support we can find meaning and happiness within our limitations.

How I Work

I will provide you with a friendly, safe space to talk about anything you want. I will listen, respect your needs and respond in a way that acknowledges your feelings to help you explore options and alternatives. You will not be judged, analysed or told what to do and we will work out together how to move forward in a way suitable for you – one step at a time. Our therapeutic relationship will be based on honesty, acceptance and understanding.

I combine various aspects of therapeutic models (Existential and Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT, Transactional Analysis, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy) to provide a unique approach that is tailored to meet each client's needs. Other techniques I may use are:

solution focusing ♦ goal setting ♦ stress management
relaxation techniques  ♦  meditation
life coaching  ♦  mindfulness

I enjoy working in an interactive, psycho-educational way when appropriate. I believe that using a flexible, integrative approach and without trying to fit you into any specific category, I can help you to change your life for the better and help you grow throughout therapy and beyond.

Personal and Professional Development

My life has been an exciting journey to find my soul’s calling. Following my career as a Dancer, Admin Executive and Fitness Instructor, I discovered Yoga and began to explore a more spiritual aspect of life. In my role of Lifestyle Advisor and Yoga Teacher in a rehabilitation clinic, I began to work with people suffering from various addictions.

There, I gradually developed a more therapeutic approach to my teaching, which eventually included experiential groups, expressive dance, mind-body work as well as other forms of therapy. I realised that I wanted to train professionally in the psychotherapeutic field and became a counsellor. It has been a life-changing journey, but one that I feel very privileged to do. Apart from offering general counselling, I also integrate my knowledge of body work, spirituality and mindfulness into a more holistic therapy if the client wants to explore this aspect of life.
